1930s Kalamazoo Archtop- “A rose by any other name…”

Many players know of the Gibson Kalamazoo name from a line of budget electric guitars produced in the 60’s.  Those instruments were lower quality than their main line and built by apprentices.  However, Gibson had also used the Kalamazoo name to sell guitars during the Depression Era, enabling them to offer top quality acoustics at lower prices without diminishing the Gibson brand.

This Kalamazoo KG-31 archtop is a prime example of the 1930’s era Gibson.  It’s got a great, loud tone with the heart drenched in jazz and blues.  There’s nothing like holding a vintage machine like this in your hands and letting the strings ring out.

This Gibson Kalamazoo is for sale right now from Guitars on George.   Buy it Now for $850 on eBay (shipping is $65).
